Cynthia Ann Stephanie "Cyndi" Lauper (née Lauper; born June 22, 1953) is an American singer, songwriter, actress and human rights activist whose career spans four decades. Lauper burst onto the scene after she released her album "She's So Unusual" in 1983, which earned her a Grammy Award for Discovery of the Year and made her the first female artist in history to have four hits from a debut album in the top five on the Billboard Hot 100. She was one of the first MTV stars and was even the first to participate in WrestleMania events of the WWE.
